A new and innovative way of finishing is laser marking on fabrics, such as rock wool, used as a thermal insulator and also an excellent acoustic insulator which is widely used in the construction market. It is an ideal material for marking logos as the reaction is a discreet, high-contrast crease on the product in question. Laser marking is indelible and only affects the material superficially without altering the properties of the insulating fiber.

In this Application News, a laser marking has been made on rock wool with a Macsa ID SPA C 30 PLUS equipment. On this wool surface we obtain very good dark contrast with high definition. In this case, not only has it been done with a static marking time of 0.7 seconds, but its dynamic markings can also be carried out at high speeds. Using laser marking equipment allows us to reduce the ecological footprint thanks to the fact that this equipment replaces ink markings, being more sustainable from an environmental point of view.
